Dirty Work

Based on my time working as a commercial cleaner at public attractions such as Museums and learning centers during university.

“Dirty Work” is a first-person shooter inspired by classic 80’s shooters such as Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem. Take on the role of a cleaner after hours at the “World Wide Educational Encloypedia Experience” on their usual four-hour shift. Fight your way through to the end of the shift to see if it was worth it.

This is project is my fourth year honours project at Abertay University, exploring paraody and procedural rhetoric in the context of jobs and work culture. This project explores the reptitive, mind-numbing nature of jobs through the levels. This game is a prototype attempting a capture the emotional side of the job.

WASD - To Move

Space - To Jump

Shift - To Sprint

Left Mouse Button - To shoot

Esc - Close Game
